Our kudos to both Humanware and the NLS Download Pilot Project. For a newly released piece of adaptive technology the Victor Reader Stream has got it mostly right. The key word to remember here is adaptive. They're attempting to provide technology that will replace our no longer working eyesight. Quite honestly nothing can totally do that. However, Humanware has done a great job. The Stream shows evidence of a great deal of work and thought having gone into it.
There seems to be a lot of criticism going on, but let's remember this is a brand new product. The problems being complained about are quite minor and given time we believe they'll be addressed.
The NLS Download Pilot Project is one of the most user friendly we've run across. This is going to be a great resource and we believe the NLS also deserves a pat on the back.
