Playing Music With The VIP Communicator

Setting Up The Communicator To Play Music

In most cases the Communicator will automatically configure the Alternative Source for you. In cases where it doesn't, you'll need to seek help on the site as there are too many possibilities to include here.

Playing Music

To play music follow these steps. Note: these are suggestions and there would be different sequences that would work.

1. Select the music you want to play.
2. Alt Tab back into the room window.

3. Press F11 to enable the Alternative Source. This works like a toggle and enables your computer to send the music out over the Internet. If you have Sapi on you'll hear Alternative Source Enabled. Note: Only the Play private messages choice needs to be checked for you to hear this. You can also Tab to the Message log and by placing yourself at the bottom, up arrowing once will allow you to confirm that the Alternative Source has been enabled. In addition you need to know that the F11 key only works while in the room window.

4. Now Alt Tab back to your Music. Press F12 to lock the play key down.
5. Press Enter on your music to play it.

6. When the music finishes playing, hit F12 to unlock the key. Be sure that if you are in your Winamp window when the song finishes that you alt-tab out of that window, as hitting F12 in the Winamp window will cause the song to start playing again in some versions of WinAmp.

7. Last Alt Tab back to the room window and press F11 to re-enable your mike.
