Acquiring Your Secure Digital Card

The Victor Stream uses a Secure Digital or Sd card for storage. These come in either a 1 or 2 Gigabyte size. The Stream will also use a Secure Digital High Capacity or SDHC card. These come in sizes larger than the 2 Gigabyte size. While there are many manufacturers many techi's seem to prefer the P N Y, Kingston or Sandisk brands. We would urge you to shop around as prices vary widely. Some dealers will provide information about the card's class followed by a number, often 2 or 6. This refers to the speed at which the card can be written to. The higher the number the faster it can be written to and the higher the price. For our purposes this is not really significant and probably not worth the additional cost.

Do I Need A Card Reader Or Not?

Note: Based on the feedback we're seeing from current Victor Stream users. We believe that the purchase of a card reader would be a good investment. There would seem to be a couple of benefits to purchasing one. Not only will a card reader dramatically increase your file transfer speed, they also seem to be easier to work with, as the card appears to show up very much the way a hard drive does.Card readers are relatively inexpensive and can usually be found any where you can find a card. Just make certain to get one that accepts your type of card.
