Jensen Voice Interactive AM/FM Clock Radio w Dual Alarm
This interactive clock allows you to complete a wide variety of tasks and all with your voice.

This document is a brief overview of the Smart Talk Clock. Within this document you will find:

The Smart Talk clock radio operates entirely on AC power. The batteries are to prevent loss of the clock settings if you lose any power. The clock will not operate on just batteries.

Radio geography:

The clock has an AC power chord which is built-in. The chord comes out of the back and bottom of the clock. The other wire which also comes out of the back and bottom of the clock is the antenna for use when operating the FM radio.
Across the top of the clock is an array of eight (8) buttons, two (2) switches and two (2) dials.

When you have the clock on a flat surface in front of you the clock is arranged in the following way:
Directly in front is the clock display.
On the top surface of the clock, is the following arrangement of buttons, switches and dials.
On the left most side, is the volume dial for the radio.
When turned to the left, the volume is at its lowest. Turning the dial clock wise, will increase the volume.
To the right of this dial there are two rows of buttons.
The first row has three (3) buttons and they are arranged from left to right, in the following order:
o Activate Sleep Sound
o Snooze
o Radio On/Off
Above the row of three (3) buttons are five (5) other buttons. They are:
o Alarm 1
o Down arrow
o Set
o Up arrow
o Alarm 2
Above the row of five (5) buttons are two switches.
Left most switch: Toggle Voice control On/Off
Right most switch: AM/FM Selector
Right most dial: Allows you to tune in the station of your choice, the dial when turned to the left is at the lower end of the frequencies

Operation:

The Smart Talk clock allows you to use your voice to trigger initial voice commands. Using The term: "Smart Talk" will allow you to use different phrases to trigger different options On the clock.

By pressing the middle button on the bottom row will have the clock give a response of: "Yes" which will prompt you to give a command such as: "set time, time, etc."

So when you want to start interacting with the clock, follow the below steps:
1. Say, "Smart Talk."
2. The clock will respond "yes."
3. Provide one of the below voice commands:
Time: The time will be announced
Set Time: you are prompted to say the current time and if it is either A.M. or P.M.
Set Alarm: You're first prompted to choose which alarm you wish to set. Alarm 1 or Alarm 2
Once you have chosen which alarm, you are prompted to say what time you would like that alarm set A.M. or P.M.

Setting the Alarm sound:

You are first prompted to choose which alarm you wish to set, Alarm 1 or Alarm 2.
Once you have chosen an alarm, you will be prompted to choose between the sounds of: The ocean, Rain, Brook, Radio or beep

Alarm:

This will identify for you the status and time that both Alarm 1 and alarm 2 are set and if they are on or off.
Note: to manually turn off the alarms, please review the button guide above and press the button 2 for Alarm 1 and Button 6 for Alarm 2. (See the button geography above)
When any of the alarm sounds or radio is playing, you must press the right most button on the bottom row (On/Off) to shut off the alarm or radio.

Sleep sounds:

You can choose from four (4) choices when selecting a sleep sound. You can choose Ocean, Rain, Brook or Radio. The Smart Talk clock allows you to play the sleep sound for either 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.

Select a Sleep Sound Time:

Follow the below steps to choose a time for your Sleep Sound to play:
1. Give the command, "Smart Talk"
2. The clock will respond with "Yes"
3. Give the command "Sleep"
4. Smart Talk will respond "please choose a Sleep time: 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes"
5. Indicate the amount of time you wish
6. Smart Talk will respond with "The Sleep sound will turn off in (designated time) minutes"
7. To manually turn off the Sleep Sound, press the right most button (On/Off) on the bottom row.

Choosing a Sleep Sound:

When you wish to choose a sleep sound, follow the below steps:
1. Give the command "Smart Talk"
2. The clock will respond "yes"
3. Give the command "play sleep sound"
4. You will be prompted by Smart Talk "to choose a sleep sound, say Ocean, Rain, Brook or Radio"
5. To manually turn off the Sleep sound, pres the right most button (On/Off) on the bottom row of buttons.

Snoozing:

When you engage the snooze function, Snoozing lasts for nine (9) minutes. To turn on the Snooze function, press the middle button on the bottom row, and while either any of the alarms or radio is sounding. To continue to snooze, keep pressing the middle button on the bottom row when the alarm sound or radio comes back on.

Display:

The Smart Talk clock has for those who have low vision, the feature which will allow you to change the display type. The choices are either low or high. To choose the display type, follow the below steps:
1. Give the command "Smart Talk"
2. Smart Talk will respond "yes"
3. Give the command "display"
4. Smart Talk will respond "Please say "Display low or Display high"
5. Once you have chosen which display type you wish it will change based on your selection

Cancelling functions:

All functions of the clock can be turned off or stopped by pressing the right most button (On/Off) on the bottom row.

Listening to the radio:

If you wish to listen to the radio just press the right most button, (On/Off) located on the bottom row and the radio will turn on.

Switches:

The Smart Talk, above the panel of buttons has two switches. The Voice Trigger on/off and the AM/FM selector.

Smart Talk Voice Trigger Switch:

This switch is located directly above Button #2 (Alarm one) The switch when to the right turns off the Smart Talk Voice trigger feature. (The initial Voice command "Smart Talk" is turned off) When flipping the switch to the left, the Voice trigger mode is turned on.

Smart Talk Switch:

This switch is located (above Alarm 1 button, button 2) In the left position, Smart Talk will say, "Smart Talk is on" When the switch is to the right, Smart Talk will say "Smart Talk is off"

AM/FM Switch:

This switch is located (above Alarm 2, button 6) When the switch is to the left, the radio is A-M and when the switch is to the right, the radio is on FM.
